Blue Print Rally - DAY THREE

Day 3 of the Blue Print Rally and all the teams agreed to travel en-mass to the Millau Viaduct. After leaving the hotel at 10am the trip took some 3 hours to make - mainly to ensure the heavily laden Kia Pride boys could keep up. Clermont-Ferrand was treated to a chorus of horns, sirens and flashing lights on departure which seemed to please and bemuse the locals.

Team A.W.O.L. radioed in at around 12pm with a problem. Apparently Anthony Pease had managed to knock the rear view mirror off and Clinker could no longer stare at himself! Hardly life threatening lads.

The Beach Boys also seem to have a picked up a nasty knocking noise from the rear of their Honda Prelude. John Ford (Jnr) ensures me its fine and they will definitely make it to Lisbon!

So far the rally has passed with no major problems and the only attention of the French police has been waves and smiles.

The Millau Viaduct was reached at around 2pm and crossed by the majority of teams in convoy. We must send a big apology to The Legends and The Dream Team - we were miss informed that you had already crossed the bridge and left without you. Sorry guys. The bridge itself was proper high although you do not get much of a sense of that from the road. It is also much shorter than it appears in pictures and on Top Gear. (I should know better than anyone how clever editing can be!)

All the teams arrived safe and sound in Perpignan before 5pm and are looking forward to a nice evening before one of the mammoth 330+ mile legs of the Rally tomorrow - this time to Valencia.

Elvis handled the journey with ease. Life is grand!
